We met nearly 12 years ago at David's 30th birthday. Daniel's contribution was to spherify carrot juice. Actually, to reverse spherify it. As Daniel explained the process of reverse spherification over dinner, one thing became very clear: it would be impossible to forget someone with such a thorough grasp of chemistry.

We have half a dozen photos together from the intervening years, but never standing next to each other.

Thankfully, David and Yuva got married in Istanbul last summer. Apparently, we had to cross an ocean to finally kiss.

The most annoying advice either of us received during our decades of stop-and-go romance was: when you know, you know. Which, it turns out, is absolutely true. We knew from our second date, if not our first.

We feel so damned lucky. To have found each other. And to have all of you, as our community, to witness our forever union.

Whether you're flying, driving, or taking the train up the Hudson, here's how to reach us.

By Air

The nearest airport is Albany International (ALB), about a 1-hour drive from Saugerties. The NYC-area airports (EWR, JFK, LGA) are also an option, especially if you plan to spend time in the city. Coming only for the wedding? EWR gets you much closer than JFK/LGA and lets you avoid the worst of the city traffic.

By Train

Amtrak runs from NYC's Penn Station to Rhinecliff or Hudson stations, both ~20–30 min from Saugerties; taxis and Ubers are available at the stations. Metro-North's Hudson line also reaches Poughkeepsie many times a day, about a 50-minute drive away.

By Car

Just drop BLACKBARN Hudson Valley at Diamond Mills into Google Maps and follow the directions. Free on-site parking is available at Diamond Mills.

If you must! We'd love to have a mostly adult vibe, but also understand that circumstances vary.

Friday night drinks are smart casual; the wedding is cocktail attire.

The ceremony and welcome drinks will be on a tiled patio/balcony near the water. Dinner and dancing will be indoors.

We know many of you have to travel a long way, and your presence is enough of a gift to us. But it's separately something we're looking into.
